SAFE: Councilman Kraft understands that people are more willing to invest in the future of our neighborhoods when we are safe in them. As Chair of the Public Safety Subcommittee, he passed legislation calling for improvements in police performance and increased prosecution of quality-of-life crimes.
SMART: Councilman Kraft is working with our schools on every level with the participation of parents, residents, businesses, churches and other untapped community assets so that our children will be able to perform at grade level in grade level.
GREEN: Councilman Kraft is the City Council's leading advocate for a sustainable environment. He knows that we must have healthy and clean neighborhoods that minimize the City's carbon footprint so that our children will have clean air to breathe, healthy houses to live in, and green buildings to work and play in. He has authored virtually all of the environmental legislation before the Council in the last three years, as well as the historic “alley gating and greening” law.
